Countdown to Opening Day at Mammoth

While it’s still summery in parts of California, the rest of the country has been seeing temps drop as we prepare for the start of the 2014/15 winter snowboarding season. In California, an early season storm is expected to bring snow to southern California mountains and the eastern Sierras as soon as this weekend, but don’t expect to be riding. There’s still a few weeks until the season officially kicks off. In Mammoth, the biggest ski and snow resort in the western United States, opening day isn’t for another two weeks. The official date is November 13, and for those lucky enough to be there on that special day, Mammoth is offering discounted lift tickets for $55. Not a bad way to kick off the winter solstice. For more info check out Mammoth Mountain’s website.
