Surfer Killed By Great White Shark in California

Seems like we’re hearing about a lot of shark attacks around the world these days. Just last week a surfer in West Australia had both of his arms bitten off in a shark attack and fortunately survived. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about a 39-year-old male surfer who was attacked and killed by a great white shark while surfing Surf Beach near Vandenberg Airforce Base in Central California this weekend. Other surfers pulled the man to shore after the attack but he was pronounced dead at the scene. This is the same spot in which another fatal shark attack occurred two years ago, the victim being a 19-year-old surfer. Signs were posted keeping others out of the water, but now that there’s been two fatal shark attacks at the same spot in the last two years, we can’t see anyone in their right mind paddling out there anytime in the near or distant future.
