Simon Says, “It’s the Summer that Keeps On Giving!!”

By on October 7, 2014

While it’s officially Fall, it’s been the summer that just keeps on giving as this week Southern California beaches welcomed the umpteenth Hurricane Swell of the season, Mr. Simon, a category 4 hurricane that swirled hard in the Eastern Pacific sending eight- to 10-foot surf to south facing beaches. While it was no Hurricane Marie, it didn’t disappoint. The swell was clean and pumping just about everywhere. And while the surf will continue to pump today and die down slowly over the next few days, there’s yet another Hurricane off Mexico that will be sending even more surf. Of course, more on that later. In the meantime, with winter approaching and Fall kicking in more every week, will there be an El Nino? Water temps are above average and the North Pacific is cranking out some early season storms. There’s been a lot of yellow fin tuna and reports of Marlin off the coast. You be the judge.
