Shoe City Pro Returns to Huntington Beach

By on October 3, 2014

While the ASP World Championship Tour is on a lay day in France, local pros in California are gearing up for an ASP Qualifying Series event in Huntington Beach with the APSS Shoe City Pro. This is the first time the Shoe City Pro has been sanctioned by the ASP World Tour. The event will take place on the southside of the Huntington Beach pier today and tomorrow and in addition to both men’s and women’s divisions it will also feature a Ghetto Juice Airshow Expression Session presented by KD Custom Jewelry. The 1-star rated event draws a lot of local pros and is a great event for upstart pros to test their skills against some of the best surfers around. In previous years the Shoe City Pro was an independent event on the American Pro Surfing series. Seal Beach native Chris Waring took the overall title in 2012, and Santa Barbara’s Kilian Garland was the 2013 overall champ. Both surfers will be competing in this weekend’s event and with the weather as hot as it is, the beach should be packed. We’ll see you there!!
