Ribeiro started off the heat with a 9.00 ride and never looked back, following it up with a 9.63 for the highest heat total of the entire event and putting Ferreira in a combo situation for the duration of the heat. Ribeiro had a busy day of surfing, defeasting Deivid Silva of Brazil in his semifinal, and Costa Rica’s Noe McGonagle in the quarters. Hats off to Vasco, we’re sure we’ll be seeing you on the ASP World Tour in the coming years!
