Voting Opens for 44th Annual Surfer Poll

(PRESS RELEASE)
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (Oct. 6, 2014) — Voting for the 44th Surfer Poll is now open, so head over to SurferPoll.com to help decide the world’s most popular surfers of the year. For the past four decades, Surfer Poll has given readers the chance to cast a vote for their 10 favorite male and five favorite female surfers who will then be recognized during the annual awards ceremony. The voting window is now open and extends through October 31st for the 2014 Surfer Poll, a tradition recognized as the only awards in surfing that are completely decided by YOU.
Last year, Kelly Slater earned his 19th Surfer Poll since his first win back in 1993, but the women’s poll was less predictable with Alana Blanchard topping the chart. This year is once again anyone’s game.
The winners will be announced on Dec. 6, 2014 at the exclusive awards ceremony at Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu with a live webcast at SurferPoll.com. Awards will also be divvyed up for the best films and performances of the year including honors for Best Barrel, Breakthrough Performer, Best Short and Movie of the Year, to name a few.
Special thanks to Surfer Magazine partners Martin Guitar, GoPro, Bird Dog Whiskey, Turtle Bay Resort and New Era for helping to bring the biggest night in surfing to life.
